This secondary ramp on the east side of Pensacola Dam offers a quieter alternative to the main Cherokee launch. It's less known and less visited, which is exactly its appeal — on busy weekends when the main ramp has a line, this one is often empty.
The single concrete ramp is basic but functional. There are no restrooms at this specific location, so plan accordingly. The approach road is gravel but well-maintained. Parking is limited to maybe 15-20 vehicles with trailers.
This ramp puts you on the water near the dam's east side, which has some excellent rock structure for bass fishing. It's also a good launch point if you're heading to the mid-lake area and want to avoid the congestion near Grove.
