Prineville Reservoir is a 3,000-acre warm-water fishing destination tucked into the high desert canyon of the Crooked River in Crook County, offering some of the best bass and panfish fishing in central Oregon. With 43 miles of rocky shoreline and depths reaching 130 feet, this Bureau of Reclamation reservoir is surrounded by juniper-studded rimrock and sagebrush hills that create a striking contrast to the blue-green waters below. The city of Prineville, located 17 miles north, serves as the gateway to this popular fishery.

Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass are the primary draw at Prineville Reservoir, with both species thriving in the rocky structure and warm summer water temperatures. Bass fishing is particularly productive from May through September, with anglers working crankbaits, jigs, and soft plastics along the numerous rocky points and submerged ledges.
