About Lake Cadillac

Lake Cadillac is a 1,300-acre lake situated on the east side of downtown Cadillac in Wexford County. Connected to Lake Mitchell by a navigable canal, the lake offers a slightly deeper basin at 27 feet and provides a more urban boating experience with the city's parks, restaurants, and shops lining portions of the shoreline. The lake is a centerpiece of community life in Cadillac, hosting fishing tournaments, boat parades, and waterfront events throughout the season.

Walleye fishing on Lake Cadillac is enhanced by DNR stocking programs, with consistent catches throughout the open-water season. Northern pike are present in good numbers, and largemouth bass fishing can be excellent along the weed lines and docks. Bluegill, crappie, and yellow perch provide family-friendly panfishing from both boat and shore. Ice fishing is extremely popular, with easy access from the city's lakefront parks.
