Chatfield Reservoir is one of the most convenient fishing destinations for Denver metro anglers, located at the south edge of the metro area in Chatfield State Park. The reservoir sits at the confluence of the South Platte River and Plum Creek.

Walleye are the premier species, with consistent catches throughout the year. The lake also produces quality largemouth bass, especially in the shallow arms near the river inlets. Annual trout stocking provides excellent spring and fall trout fishing. The well-maintained boat ramp and marina make for easy lake access.
